| On two occasions during my stay in LA I noticed the
bright light beams sweeping from police helicopters above. The first time was in
a bus while returning from Catalina Island (a police helicopter was probably
looking for a few villains and swept Highway 110). The second time was from a
low-hovering police helicopter during the 'gun-incident-in-the-bar' (which I'm
not going to explain because you won't believe my story anyhow). While returning from what was supposed to be my last night in LA, I again noticed a bright light, this time from Wilshire blvd. The road between Hope en Flower street was blocked by police men and security guards, while a impressive workforce turned Whilshire blvd. into New York 50 Street for a film called "Dare Devil". Even though it was around midnight, the whole area was packed with people and was so brightly lit that it seemed to be daytime. I went back to my hotel room, picked up my Nikon camera, passed all security lines without any question and before I realized I was standing right in the middle of the film set, making some close-up photos. It took at least half an hour before one of the security guys politely asked me: "Are you the new photographer?". Ehhh..... Nope. |
Move your mouse pointer over this frame to watch a 20 second excerpt from the final Dare Devil movie. This fragment roughly covers the hours I witnessed that evening |
