Fusion, Dutch CTEC evening and closing party

On this page you won't find much about the actual Fusion 2002 event. Static photos of presenters aren't very exciting so I focused a little bit more on the other events that were organized around Fusion 2002.

Together with a couple of Dutch CTEC's we decided to spend our 'free' Saturday evening on Sunset Boulevard.
We started off at the 'House of Blues' where Vida Blue was playing a live jam rock session. Cheap Trick performed 4 days ago, the B-52's were on next Monday, so don't expect too much 'blues' around here. Excellent food & music.
Next was the Dublin's Irish Whiskey pub where we stayed a couple of hours before we went back to the Wheelchair hotel (formerly known as the Wilshire hotel) where we occupied the pool tables until well after midnight.

Altogether not as shocking as the 'gun-incident-in-the-bar' that I experienced the night before (actually, Saturday morning), but still a good night out.

The Fusion 2002 closing party was held in Universal Studios Hollywood.

We started with dinner & drinks on the streets of Universal citywalk, then accidentally stumbled into B.B. King's Blues Club where an excellent band was playing live blues music (not my favorite music, but this live event was excellent).

At 21:30 we went on to the theme park where we survived the 25 meter vertical drop from a waterfall in a raft of 'Jurassic Park summer splash', then dried ourselves at the blazing inferno of 'Backdraft', saw the first 30 seconds of 'Waterworld' (due to some kind of technical problem, the show was cancelled) and finally visited the 3D cyber adventure 'Terminator 2'. By that time it was midnight and time to head back to the busses.

Most of the pictures failed due to the lack of a proper flashlight.
